What you’re then left with are pure power upgrades that I really dislike. Where it’s this childish one-upping of “I read his play”, “I read his reading of my play”, “I can jump higher than you”, “I can run faster than you”. It’s just not fun to watch from a tactical and footballing standpoint. And deep down, Blue Lock knows this, so what do they do? They decide to introduce imaginary
monsters. Yes you heard me right.
Just like Bachira and the monster inside of him, there are 2 wolves inside of me, one hates this show, the other also hates this show. The individual monsters of this show don’t work and don’t get expanded on. When you lean into that supernatural realm
without actually doing anything meaningful with it–Or when they don’t iron out properties of these supernatural concepts like in the case of Blue Lock, it just
becomes nonsensical mumbo jumbo. You have no limit defining, everything just ends up feeling so pulled out of the hat for convenience sake. It’s also those flaming eyes when the monsters come out or when they enter “serious mode” that are so badly animated for some of these scenes. They all start to look like Endeavor from MHA to me and it’s admittedly hysterical.

Shikadai decided for Boruto's training to focus his Rasengan on a single point to improve its penetrative power. As the day ended and little progress was made, Shikadai and Boruto began discussing the unique nature of Deepa's power, as it was all about the arrangement and pressure of carbon molecules. This suddenly gave Boruto inspiration. By the following day, Boruto succeeded in obliterating a massive boulder with his Rasengan. He told Kakashi about his progress. Deciding to put Boruto to the test, he arranged for Boruto to face off
against Shojoji in a police facility, believing the convict would be the perfect opponent to test Boruto's progress. Boruto faces Shojoji as part of his training. As the battle began, Boruto's skills matched Shojoji's, but his wind counters proved too powerful, even against Boruto's Wind Release: Rasengan. Deciding he had no choice, Boruto used his new Compression Rasengan. It was able to overcome Shojoji's defences and swiftly defeated him. As Kakashi commended Boruto for coming up with the alternate plan of condensing his Rasengan rather than expanding it, Boruto collapsed as his long hours of training
caught up to him.
