[7] The story concludes in the film adaptation Conqueror of Shamballa, in which Edward's search attracts the attention of the Thule Society, which seeks to enter his homeworld—believing it to be Shamballa—to obtain new weapons to help them in World War II. Dietlinde Eckhart, a member of the Thule Society, enters the other world and tries to destroy Amestris. She is defeated by the Elric brothers, who decide to stay in Germany. Production[edit] During the development of the Fullmetal Alchemist anime, Arakawa allowed Bones to work independently from her, and requested they produce an original ending different from that of the then ongoing manga. She did not want to repeat the same ending in both media, and wanted to continue writing the manga to develop the characters at her own pace. When watching the anime's ending, Arakawa stated that she was amazed about how different the homunculi creatures were from her manga and enjoyed how the staff speculated about the origins of the villains. [4] Although she was not fully involved in all aspects of the 2003 series, she was directly involved in the production of it at a storywise standpoint, and as shown in the extras of Volume 8 of the manga. She helped the anime's development team with consultation for the characters and telling the overall story she had planned for her manga, helping them fill in some of the gaps to create the anime original ending of the 2003 series. Because Arakawa was involved in the development of the anime, she was kept from focusing on the manga's cover illustrations and had little time to illustrate them. [8] Broadcast and release[edit] Main article: List of Fullmetal Alchemist episodes The animation studio Bones adapted the manga into a 51-episode anime series. It was directed by Seiji Mizushima, written by Shō Aikawa and co-produced by Bones, Mainichi Broadcasting System and Aniplex.

Kiseru couldn't trust anyone after being framed for the deaths, and stabbed Boruto, explaining the entire maze is genjutsu, arranging for him to wake up. Boruto woke up in a room, seeing everyone else in suspended animation. Boruto attempting to save Ōga. Boruto failed to wake up other captives, and was met by Rokuro and Yatsume. He confirmed to Rokuro that Kiseru didn't work for Ōga, and explained the genjutsu nature of their imprisonment. They left to search for Ōga using a map and access card Yatsume discovered in the Kusa-nin Rokuro exposed as Ōga's minion. They eventually realised they were walking in circles, and Boruto was separated from the other two by a wall. He circled back after failing to break the wall, and found Yatsume defeated, having the map and card stolen by Rokuro. He helped her around, but she was eventually affected by Rokuro's parasite, and begged him to take her out. When he realised from the pain of her attacks that they were still under genjutsu, she dropped the ruse and revealed herself as the true Ōga, explaining who she was and what she wanted. As the construct began to collapse around them, Boruto refused to abandon or kill her to escape the genjutsu, her reaching out to him being enough for her to wake up on her own and free everyone. When Date got far enough away from Ippo, Ippo fell from his own weight, resulting in himself getting downed. Ippo slowly got up, looking for Date. When he found Date, Ippo walked up to him, and, after a quick exchange, readied a liver blow. Seeing this, Date stepped back and landed the Heart Break Shot on Ippo. Just as Date was about to land another hit on the frozen Ippo, the referee stopped the match as Kamogawa had thrown the towel into the ring while Ippo fell down, resulting in Date winning and Ippo losing for the first time in his career. Later, in his waiting room, Kamogawa apologised to Ippo for his poor planning as Ippo apologised himself, wishing for Kamogawa to continue looking after him.
Another factor of the success of the plot is that every time Takemichi returns to the present, everything is very different, but, at the same time, some incidents never stop happening, no matter how much the past is changed. Due to this, there are many plot twists and mysteries to be solved, which makes you want to watch the next episode right away.
About characters, the protagonist is very controversial in the fandom. Although, I do like Takemichi, opposite to most viewers, I acknowledge his character development could've been improved. This anime has something uncommon, given that the protagonist is not strong, and his fighting skills don't improve significantly over time, which is one of the main reasons to the general dislike towards him. But, in my opinion, whatever the protagonist of "Tokyo Revengers" lacks, characters like Mickey or Draken, make up for it. In my opinion, yes, Takemichi would be more interesting to watch if he was as strong as the others, but, at the same time, that's what makes them stand out, since Takemichi already has a very unique power, time traveling. So, I actually think it makes sense Takemichi is the way he is, because, in the end, he's not a gang member like the others, he's just someone who found himself trapped in that world and adjusts to it realistically. On the other hand, the other characters grew up in those environments, so it makes sense that their individualities are marked by their physical strenght.
Concluding my review, I liked watching the anime, even thought I don't consider it a masterpiece, it's very good. If you like animes that portray darker themes, such as crime and gang violence, but at the same time can give us some loving and funny moments, plus, also enjoy fight scenes without supernatural intervention, you'll probably enjoy this anime.
