The typical anime fan is the kid that still brings the brown bag containing a healthy portion of all major food groups; the kid that cares not that the rich kid can make a mini pizza for themselves rather than express jealousy about it.
I can sympathize with them. Sometimes I grew tired of the same old jokes, the same punchlines consisting of either boobs, a character’s idiocy, or both if they were feeling extra daring. This type of humor is funny as much as it is a nuisance to deal with over and over again. Think that one meme template that uses a Diary of a Wimpy Kid drawing panel, where Manny says something and receives laughs and some light praise. Then he says it again, and now everyone is visibly distraught and long past the point of laughing. The humor present in the show can balance between either an eyeroll or a light chuckle, two extremes that many would prefer to see at least the middle of as to not be too daunting. To its benefit, many of the jokes land in the latter category.
Maybe it’s because I found it funny at some points and annoying the rest of the time. Maybe it’s because I have watched objectively better isekai that took itself seriously. Maybe it’s because this is the first anime I ever watched no thanks to my friend who decided this was a great kickoff to my journey. Nurugai was put on death row after she accidentally lured Shogunate samurai to her village—as the Sanka were a symbol of rebellion against the Shogunate, despite living normally. Due to her physique and behavior, she is often mistaken for a boy. Rokurota (六呂田) A fearsomely large and strong criminal. Nicknamed "The Giant of Bizen" (備前の巨人, Bizen no Kyojin), Rokurota is a mentally undeveloped man as he possesses the mind of a baby—as he is unable to speak and cry as such when he is hungry. He is feared for his immense strength, having killed many people with his bare hands, often with a single strike, including his parents, several villagers, and Yamada Asaemons Eizen and Genji. Following an intense fight with Gabimaru and Sagiri, Rokurota gets beheaded by the latter. Yamada Asaemon[edit] The Yamada Asaemon (山田浅ェ門) is a prestigious swordsmen dojo in Edo. They train sword testers to become fully-fledged executioners for the Shogunate. Once fully trained, each swordsman has their name preceded by the title "Yamada Asaemon. " Tōma (桐馬) Voiced by: Kensho Ono[4] (Japanese); Matt Shipman[5] (English) Portrayed by: Rui Tabuchi[6] The executioner assigned to Chōbei. He infiltrated the Yamada Asaemon in order to free Chōbei, who is his older brother.
Back in the present, Andy and Fuuko buy fancy clothes to disguise themselves as a married celebrity couple. Fuuko recalls an earlier conversation she had with Juiz where the latter explained the reason she was chosen for the mission. Andy and Fuuko infiltrate the auction, while Tatiana is tasked with investigating the ship from the outside. Andy and Fuuko find out that there is a Negator up for auction. Tatiana later alerts them that the ship is under attack by a rogue group of Negators led by Rip, the man who tortured Unseen. Juiz states that the group is called Negator Hunters, Negators who use their abilities to cause chaos to get revenge against the world.
