"Soul Eater" which looks like something out of a Tim Burton movie, has a unique style. The dark backgrounds with a gloomy scenery develop the perfect mood for its horror genre. The animation is highly convincing, with each and every location fitting the world established by the show. In addition to the narrative, let's also talk about the character designs. Maka, Black Star, and Kid are all easy on the eyes, and their appearances are equally captivating. Well, the cheap action scenes that are brought forward by the dramatic camera angles can feel a bit out of place at times, but over all it is a real treat to look at.
And the music? Oh, it's killer. The opening and ending themes pack a punch, perfectly complementing the gothic visuals. The hard rock soundtrack adds another layer of depth to the darker themes of the show. All in all, "Soul Eater" nails it when it comes to audio.
