She reveals she did this in order to ensure that Yōta meets Kako in
person at a mahjong tournament she is organizing. Two days later, Yōta heads out to compete in the
Libertas Cup while Hina, Kyōko, and Ashura cheer him on. In the waiting room, Yōta meets Kako. Once the
match begins, Yōta follows Hina's instructions,
which initially has him in last place. However, as the match continues, he starts to make a comeback when he uses unconventional methods, which impresses Kako. As such, Yōta ultimately wins the Libertas Cup.
Ippo then realised that Mashiba had not
forgotten when Sawamura struck Kumi with a closed fist, which was why he chose to fight him for revenge. Later, after Itagaki got back from sparring with Mashiba, Ippo was shocked to see not even a scratch on Itagaki's face, worrying that Mashiba is not in his best condition which would lead him unable to win. before Mashiba and Sawamura's match, Ippo discussed with Itagaki about Mashiba's condition during their spars. Ippo was worried when he heard how tense Mashiba was and that it would make him more vulnerable to counters, which was Sawamura's speciality. Ippo then informed Itagaki about Sawamura hitting Kumi, causing Itagaki to instruct Ippo to form a Mashiba chant to make him win.
