The story might seem a little childish at first but as soon as the plot develops the (very) dark nature of the story becomes obvious. The characters are unique and incredibly well developed, with the show not being afraid of testing them psychologically in a way that not many animes are willing to. The fights are intense both physically and psychologically and as the Anime progresses they tend to become more violent and
over the edge.
The soundtrack is beautiful. From the intense/epic classic orchestras to the guitar riffs, everything seems to fall into place. Even the show's "intros" and "outros" are very consistent and worth listening to.
All in all, this is the kind of Anime that a true fan of this
Japanese art will not want to miss. helpful•36241g-luismiguel14Nov 6, 2012Top picksSign in to rate and Watchlist for personalized recommendationsSign inFAQ18How many seasons does Hunter x Hunter have?Powered by AlexaWhat is the difference between "Hunter x Hunter (1999)" and "Hunter x Hunter (2011)" ?DetailsEditRelease dateAugust 11, 2012 (Taiwan)Countries of originJapanPolandOfficial siteOfficial site [Japan]LanguagesJapaneseEnglishAlso known asHunter x HunterProduction companiesMadhouseNippon Television Network (NTV)ShueishaSee more company credits at IMDbProTechnical specsEditRuntime24 minutesColorColorSound mixDolby DigitalAspect ratio16:9 HDRelated newsContribute to this pageSuggest an edit or add missing contentIMDb Answers: Help fill gaps in our dataLearn more about contributingEdit pageAdd episodeMore to explorePhotosThe Most Searched Stars on IMDbSee the galleryListIMDb Staff's 2024 Oscar PredictionsSee our predictionsListHillary's 6 Picks for March and BeyondSee the full listRecently viewedYou have no recently viewed pagesGet the IMDb AppSign in for more accessSign in for more accessGet the IMDb AppHelpSite IndexIMDbProBox Office MojoIMDb DeveloperPress RoomAdvertisingJobsConditions of UsePrivacy PolicyYour Ads Privacy ChoicesIMDb, an Amazon company© 1990-2024 by IMDb. com, Inc. McNeil called the concept of "what happens to the party when the quest is over?" interesting, praising as well Frieren's struggling with "becoming less detached" and seeing her experiencing the "lovely poignant moments, bittersweet ones, and happy ones". McNeil also compared the series' pace and feel to Haibane Renmei. [54] Antonio Mireles of The Fandom Post named it the sixth best manga of 2021. He wrote: "Time waits for no man and that line may be overused but that line strikes a chord in this manga. There is always more to discover and Frieren has to learn that lesson as time marches on. It's a sweet but harsh reminder to enjoy the moment for all its worth. "[55] Kara Dennison of Otaku USA liked the art and the touches of humanity which help to appeal the narrative, comparing it other famous works like Lord of the Rings among other fantasy series. [74] Richard Eisenbeis of Anime News Network praised the dynamics between the main characters as Frieren quickly goes through an arc when meeting Fern and Stark as her perspective of time changes as she meets these two teenagers while also building up her backstory with each episode. [75] Jenni Lada of Siliconera considered it as one of the best anime from fall 2023, praising the depths of Frieren as she wants to connect further with Himmel following her regrets when the hero dies in the first episode while also
noting how there are other events in the manga that go from drama to slice-of-life. [76] Dan Mansfield of The Fandom Post also praised the fights and narrative from the plot but felt some sex jokes to be out-of-place despite appreciating the humor in general.
