Kiyoshi Fujino is one of these new boys, but he discovers to his shock that he and his four friends—Takehito "Gakuto" Morokuzu, Shingo Wakamoto, Jouji "Joe" Nezu, and Reiji "Andre" Andou—are the only male students among 1,000 girls. The draconian laws that are still in place make the school even worse, which punishes even the most minor infractions with a stay in the school's prison. The five boys all commit voyeurism in the school's bathing area with the lecherous philosophy of "all for one, one for all". Their capture and "arrest" by the Underground Student Council causes the five boys to receive an ultimatum: either stay a month in the school's Prison Block or be expelled. The boys are incarcerated in the Prison Block together and Kiyoshi is overwhelmed by the discovery that all the other boys are masochists that revel in the punishments handed to them by their attractive but vicious supervisors. Characters[edit] Main characters[edit] Kiyoshi Fujino (藤野 清志, Fujino Kiyoshi) Voiced by: Hiroshi Kamiya[2] (Japanese); Austin Tindle[3] (English) Portrayed by: Taishi Nakagawa[4] Kiyoshi enrolled from the same middle school as Shingo. He is the first boy in Hachimitsu Academy to make contact with a girl when he befriends Chiyo, whom he develops feelings for. Although not very bright, he often comes up with successful plans when placed under high amounts of pressure. Due to several embarrassing mishaps, he becomes a regular target of Hana's affections while in prison. So far, he is the only one of the five boys to have been sent to prison more than once. When the ASC takes over during his second imprisonment, he becomes an ally to Mari, who is also a prisoner.

Blue Exorcist can be faulted for it's unoriginal, demon based story which did change it's pacing a lot throughout the entirety of the anime. The story centers around your typical protagonist, rebel frowned upon hero Rin Okurmura training to become a demon exorcist. The story telling eventhough can be seen as 'rushed' is explained and detailed well making it an enticing yet easy to understand plot. It has certain sparks which makes it incredibly unique and inviting but can still include your typical anime clichés
Certain parts of the anime . can get a little underwhelming. The plot build up is great but the action behind the show is slow not having proper action and full on demon slaying till about halfway into the show, which can be confusing as this is labelled as a high action anime.

[160] CNET reviewer Tim Hornyak credits the series with revitalizing and transforming the giant mecha genre. [207] In the 1980s and 1990s, Japanese animation saw decreased production[208] following the economic crash in Japan. [209] This was followed by a crisis of ideas in the years to come. [210] Against this background, Evangelion imposed new standards for the animated serial, ushering in the era of the "new Japanese animation serial",[211] characterized by innovations that allowed a technical and artistic revival of the industry. The production of anime serials began to reflect greater author control, the concentration of resources in fewer but higher quality episodes, typically ranging from thirteen to twenty-six, a directorial approach similar to live film, and greater freedom from the constraints of merchandising. [212] Two cosplayers portraying Asuka Langley Soryu and Rei Ayanami. The franchise has been credited as a conduit for making cosplay a worldwide phenomenon. [213] According to TV Tokyo's Keisuke Iwata, the global spread of Japanese animation dramatically expanded due to the popularity of Evangelion. [214] In Japan, Evangelion prompted a review of the cultural value of anime,[215] and its success, according to Roland Kelts, made the medium more accessible to the international youth scene. [216] With the interest in the series, otaku culture became a mass social phenomenon. [217][218] The show's regular reruns increased the number of otaku,[219] while John Lynden links its popularity to a boom in interest in literature on the Dead Sea Scrolls, Kabbalah and Christianity.
