Baki meets with Doppo and tries to persuade him to give up the fight. He says Doppo will die in this battle. Then the karate grandmaster decides to invite him to a "special day" of Shinshinkai, in which various karate fighters have the right to come and beat him in battle. Baki is impressed by Doppo's skills but still doubts
about his chances of winning against Yuujirou. At some point, he decides to attack him himself, but after a while, the young fighter is completely pushed against the wall by Doppo. After their short fight, Baki changes his mind about Doppo's chances. Sometime later, Baki meets Takayama again, but this time in a completely different situation. He sees him assaulted by some thugs headed by Ogino. He decides to step in and save Takayama, who was beaten up, and eventually, Baki scares those thugs away. Sometime before the fight between Doppo and Yuujirou, Tokugawa tells Baki that he has found an opponent for him, which will be Kureha Shinogi, Koushou's brother, and a doctor with incredible fighting skills. Tokugawa wants their fight to
take place right after the duel between Doppo and Yuujirou.
Tanjiro later attempts to befriend Genya but is rebuffed, though he notices Genya had regrown a
lost tooth. Unbeknownst to all, Gyokko and Hantengu have infiltrated the village. Hantengu battles Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Muichiro, who beheads him. Two new demons then grow from the severed body and head; one of them, Karaku, blasts Muichiro away with his wind-based uchiwa, and the other, Sekido, shocks the siblings with his khakkhara. Genya arrives and beheads them with a sawed-off shotgun and a Nichirin wakizashi. However, the demons to split again, now totalling four demons. The winged Urogi carries Tanjiro away from the group and hits him with a sonic shriek, while Nezuko tries to defend Genya from Aizetsu, who wields a yari. Muichiro runs back to assist them but finds
